  • Why Don't I Have Power?

    The most common cause of no power is a tripped breaker or tripped GFI outlet. GFI outlets can be located in garages, bathrooms, kitchens, or on the exterior of the house. If the breaker is tripped, push the handle all the way in the off position then back on again. If you are experiencing a loss of a 240-volt circuit (stove, dryer, etc), dimming or flickering lights through out the house you should call your power company. The power company could check the meter can and service to the property most times this troubleshooting is free of charge.   • Why Are My Lights Flickering?

    The lights can be flickering due to an issue with the Power Company, bad fixture, or loose connection. Also, some fluorescent and LED fixtures are not compatible with dimmer switches that were install. If you have a fluorescent fixture the bulbs or ballast may be going bad.   • Why Are My Outlets Not Working?

    GFI outlets and/or breakers are the most common causes of outlets to suddenly stop working. There could also be a loose connection with the wiring or an issue where the outlet has gone bad and needs to be replaced.   • How Can I Save Energy In My Home Or Business?

    The best way to save energy in your home or business is to use LED lights and lamps, Gas for your water heater and stove, or install a mini split A/C system in common rooms to cool individual rooms at one time. Your Power company may also have additional money saving tips on their website or through their call center.   • Can I Do Electrical Work On My Own?

    Yes, as a homeowner you can perform your own electrical work however, most counties require a permit for electrical work being performed and you will be required to pass a city inspection by your county.   • What Do I Do If My Breaker Or Panel Cover Is Hot To The Touch?

    If your breaker(s) or your panel cover is hot it could be a sign that your breaker or panel is in need of replacement. Another common issue is there is a loose connection inside the panel that is causing the breakers to ARC or make a sizzling sound. You should turn off the breaker that is hot contact a licensed electrician to troubleshoot and make the needed repairs.   • Do I Need A Surge Protector?

    There are instances where surge protectors do and do not function properly or as they are intended. A surge protector is not 100% guaranteed to protect you from a direct lightning strike or lightning that comes through your cable or internet lines. However, for indirect strikes this may save your equipment or protect your appliances.
